PROPERTY CONCERNS

Environmental searches should be regarded as 'usual searches' (see [2001], Gazette, 27 September, 18).

I have had two instances lately where purchasers did not proceed because of entries in our environment search, and they were grateful.One property was in a suburb and the plot upon which the property was built was a recent landfill site (small cracks, possibly structural, had already appeared), and another property was situated in a small village, which was a high Radon gas area.Graham Kirby, W Parry & Co, Swansea
