Leading lawyers in Britain have been lobbying behind the scenes and a number of senior judges from around the world have sent private messages of support, but many are unwilling to speak publicly.

Why have we not sounded our protest at this treatment of a fellow lawyer and at this serious threat to the rule of law? Martin Collings, Collings & Co, Canterbury, Kent
