European Commission adopts a recommendation to harmonise information on home loans.

Guidelines on financial information to be made available to consumers concerning home loans were agreed on 5 March 2001.

The Voluntary Code of Conduct should make it easier for consumers to compare loans from different mortgage lenders.

Street tradingKempin, t/a British Bulldog Ice Cream v Brighton and Hove Council, (2001) The Times, 13 March (QBD).Ice cream vendors making regular rounds by vans were street traders and not roundsmen.

They therefore needed to be licensed by the local authority in order to conduct such a trade.
