King v Telegraph Group Ltd, 18 May 2003, [2004] EWCA Civ 613
The court gave guidance on the possible approaches in defamation cases where there was a conditional fee agreement but no after-the-event insurance.
One possibility was that the court could make a costs capping order.

Fraud law reform: Consultation on proposals for legislation, Home Office.
The consultation paper seeks views on proposals to overhaul of the fraud laws: simplifying them to better equip police and prosecutors to deal with modern crimes.
It is aimed at law enforcers, legal practitioners, business and all those interested.
The consultation period closes on 9 August 2004.
