Review of rules and principles of professional conduct

The Law Society has been engaged for the last five years in the most comprehensive review of all the rules and principles of professional conduct ever undertaken.

A final consultation on all the proposed new rules, which will replace the Guide to the Professional Conduct of Solicitors, is available on the Law Society's Web site at www.lawsociety.org.uk.

The consultation includes a questionnaire that can be downloaded separately and completed.

Previous consultations have focused on individual rules or subjects, so this is the only opportunity to see the rules in their entirety and to contribute to their final form before they are made by the Law Society Council.

The deadline for responses is 12 July 2004; because of the tight schedule to get the rules made this will have to be strictly adhered to.
