SCL pushes into Wales
A group promoting IT law and the use of IT by lawyers has recently been established in Wales.
The regional group of the Society for Computers and Law - SCL Wales - currently has more than 40 members from law firms, academic institutions and the private sector in the principality and is seeking to add to its membership.
The group will hold training seminars on all aspects of IT law to increase knowledge among the legal community of Wales.
'Local lawyers must not only have the expertise to service this ever-increasing market, but must also be able to take advantage of new developments in technology,' said Lee Fisher, a founder member of SCL Wales and assistant solicitor in the Cardiff office of M4 corridor firm Morgan Cole.
'IT is definitely under-used in the provinces,' he continued, 'with the exception of Cardiff, and to a lesser degree Swansea, few lawyers appreciate the magnificent benefits they could be gaining.'LINKS: www.scl.orgAndrew Towler
