News just in of another group of lawyers that is pressing for inclusion in Sven-Goran Eriksson's Euro 2004 squad.

Following the triumphs of the Lovellies, City firm Lovells' all-conquering ladies' team, we have Liverpool firm Irvings winning the six-a-side Legal and Financial Cup in Madrid.

Irvings gained revenge against the holders Hammonds, who knocked them out at the group stage last year, with a 6-0 thrashing in the semi-final.

The firm won the final 3-1 against Squire & Co.

Among the other law firms taking part in the tournament, which was held at Real Madrid's training ground, were Olswangs and Shoosmiths.

David Beckham didn't show - he was too busy sending texts apparently - but Irvings' players more than made up for his absence.

Pictured standing left to right are Ian Kyle, Mark Moriarty (player of the tournament), Hywel Thomas, Alan Todd (golden boot), Gary Colvin and Steve Irving (manager); kneeling left to right are Nick Swales, Terry Moran, Nathan Jones and Lee Cadwallader.
