I recently attended a best value tendering consultation. I had to inform those present that, in the light of the recent slashing of police station attendance fees and loss of stand-by, and so on, they had already carved me to the bone.
Considering that we are defence lawyers, we are doing an incredibly bad job of representing ourselves. We have gone like lambs to the slaughter. To my dismay, some solicitors are actually engaged in our demise and assisting in that slaughter - no doubt, hoping to gorge on our lives while quaffing chianti.
If the Legal Services Commission continues in its unyielding and unrelenting manner, then this can only lead to the 'silence of the lambs'.
