Top 50 firm Freeths has reported a year of double-digit profit growth and confirmed it will pay a record amount in bonuses to all staff.

Overall profit at the national firm rose by 13% to £59.4m in the year ending 31 March 2025, while turnover increased by 14.8% to almost £167m.

This was the fifth consecutive year that turnover growth has exceeded 10%.

The firm allocated a total staff bonus pool of £4.3m, consisting of a salary-linked sum for all staff (except partners) and a discretionary bonus pool, based on personal performance.

During the year, Freeths relocated to larger offices in Bristol and Liverpool and undertook a refurbishment of its London office. It now has more than 1,300 staff across 13 offices.

Managing partner Karl Jansen said: The investment in our facilities underscores our dedication to providing state-of-the-art workspaces that not only support hybrid working models but also enrich client experiences.

‘In conjunction with talent attraction, development and retention, we have continued our firm-wide focus on our pay gaps (gender and ethnicity) and our board, senior management team and employee networks are fully committed to driving the change required to reduce and, over time, eliminate any pay gaps.’

In May, the firm announced 80 promotions across the firm, including nine partners.
