Staple foils Hawaiian rumours
Obiter's revelation last week that a leading member of the Forum of Insurance Lawyers was seen at the Civil Justice Council costs forum sporting his business suit in combination with a Hawaiian shirt has caused a furore.
'I'm not interested in who it was,' writes an anxious former FOIL president Martin Staples, warning of defamation by innuendo, 'but am concerned that no one thought it was me.' Obiter can confirm that Mr Staples - a well-dressed City lawyer to his shoelaces - was not even at the forum.
