Taking the plunge

Taking the plunge: Solicitors jumping off tall buildings is not necessarily the best news to report, but fortunately any impending recession is not the reason in these two cases.

Partners Jonathan Whittaker (top left) and John Cook of Stockport firm Sinclair Abson Smith were among five lawyers at the firm to abseil their building in aid of Comic Relief (assistant solicitor and extreme sports enthusiast Rachel Brown is also pictured having already made it to the bottom shes planning sky-diving and bungee-jumping next if she can persuade any of her apparently terrified colleagues), while Sam Kinnear, Julian Evitts (pictured) and Joanne Buckley of Birkenheads Percy Hughes & Roberts took on Bodelwyddan Castle in north Wales in aid of Merseyside childrens hospice Claire House.

But Sinclairs really made the best of the event, as it also forms part of its marketing effort to promote the firm as the legal SAS.
