The SDT reprimanded Mr Egole (admitted 1996) of 160 Tollington Park, Finsbury Park, London N4 3AD, and Mr Pathmanathan (admitted 1986) of the same address, who practised in partnership together, for unbefitting conduct, in that they had failed to pay compensation and return a fee within the time allowed by a direction of the Law Society.

The circumstances surrounding the matter had been unfortunate and, when the respondents attempted to comply with the direction, they had (initially) been unsuccessful through no fault of their own.

Payment had been made before the disciplinary hearing.

The respondents were ordered to pay 1,163 costs on a joint and several basis.
