Obiter does not want to encourage firms and their PR people to think that we can be worn down if they send a press release again and again.

However, we make an exception for marathon man Simon Gibson, a partner with Wirral firm Kirwans.

As you can see, he can barely walk the streets of his local town without Jonny Wilkinson-style adulation.

And all this for running a half-marathon in 2 hours 15 minutes.

Just think what could have happened if he'd gone the whole way.

Having said that, he kept off the burgers and chips and the booze as part of his training and raised 800 for Barnardo's, so we raise our right arm, 'Hail Caesar' like, for his efforts.
