The Law Society's wills & equity committee aims to keep under review, and to promote improvements in, the law and procedure relating to wills, probate, trusts and charities.
The committee currently has a number of vacancies and seeks applications from practitioners from the private and public sectors who can demonstrate expertise and/or experience in one or more of the following areas: inheritance and capital taxes, anti-money laundering regulations, financial services issues, and charity and trust law.
Applicants should have an active interest in law reform and practice issues of importance to the profession, and be able to contribute ideas and practical experience through attendance at committee meetings (four per year - attendance expenses paid) and working parties on specific issues as necessary.
Applications are welcome from ethnic minority and disabled practitioners who are currently under-represented on the committee.
