Registration for land transaction tax, which will replace stamp duty land tax in Wales from 1 April, will open tomorrow, the Welsh Revenue Authority has announced. Registered service users will be able to sign up for an online account in readiness for filing returns. A new tax calculator has also been set up on the WRA’s website to help with returns. Dyfed Alsop, chief executive of the WRA, said: ‘We have been testing our new tax system with professionals in Wales and across the border in England since last November, to make sure we develop a bilingual, digital system that’s effective and efficient.’ Further information, including advice on registration, is available here.
