Weird US lawsuits, part 964

Alan Garner was an eager visitor of the Skybox Steak and Sports Bar in Illinois a few years ago, which promised 'great food, a full liquor bar and the world-famous Heavenly Bodies Showgirls up close and totally crazy'.

According to the American Bar Association Journal, when an unclad showgirl embraced him, Mr Garner leaned back on his bar stool so far that a candle behind him set fire to his shirt, and he suffered third-degree burns on his left arm and back.

Mr Garner's $50,000 claim says that the Skybox should have known better than to place unshielded candles in the vicinity of men who are being distracted by exotic dancers.

It also alleges that Skybox 'negligently and carelessly failed to train its dancers so as to prevent this type of occurrence'.

Perhaps the answer is for all participants to be naked; that way, the flames couldn't spread.
