I was interested to read Nicola Prior's letter 'Men's Club' (see [2008] Gazette, June 5, 11), particularly her comment that she has 'more work than I know what to do with'.


If this is the case then presumably the answer is a) turn work away or b) employ some help. If she opts for 'b' then presumably she is likely to find herself on the other side of the 'pay discrepancy battles' to which she refers.



I suspect it will be an interesting and illuminating experience for her if, like most employers in our sector, she seeks to reward by reference to a full and properly designed set of criteria and to avoid the trap of deferring to political correctness.
