Welcome to the rodeo, CityAM. The feisty London freesheet has become the latest to wake up to the fact that the legal services sector is big news in the City and a potential source of both readers and advertising. We’re confident that the new Eyes on the Law half page, which we spotted on Tuesday, will attract plenty of both. This week’s big stories? A Yorkshire Brussels sprout supplier’s action against retailer Aldi and - better late than never - an explainer on the SQE marking fiasco (Gazettes passim).

The page’s editor may want to have a chat with the art desk, though. The Eyes on the Law titlepiece contains not one but two classic howlers: not only is Lady Justice blindfolded but she’s waving her scales at a gavel.
