Avid fan of TV quiz show who reconstructed the studio in his home hits the jackpot.

Obiter will be seeking out civil service lawyer Jan Stroh for a stein or two next time we’re in his home city of Hamburg. Stroh this week became just the 11th contestant to win the jackpot on the Wer Wird Millionär, the German version of the millionaire British quiz show. Stroh correctly answered which Grimm fairytale, out of Rumpelstilskin, Hans in Luck, The Star Money and Little Red Riding Hood, does not begin with the words ‘Once upon a time’. *

The 35-year-old was hardly fazed by his appearance on the show, having watched every one of its 1,047 episodes and even reconstructed the studio in the basement of his home.

Stroh told the media: ‘I thought to myself: everything will be fine, just try to imagine this is a normal quiz evening at my own quiz stage.’

According to reports Stroh will carry on his legal career but will buy a new suit and take a holiday in Australia, as well as a spruce-up for his home studio.

* It was Hans in Luck, for those playing at home.
