Congratulations to Krishangi Meshram (below) who has qualified as a solicitor at the age of 21 years and three months.

She tells the Gazette: ‘After graduating from high school at the age of 15, I started pursuing a degree in law, and by 18, I received a Bachelor of Laws (Honours) degree from the Open University. Then I began the LPC alongside my master’s from the University of Law in the UK. At 20, I completed the LPC with distinction and received my MSc in Business, Law and Management with distinction.

‘During my postgraduate studies, I also completed two years of qualifying work experience by interning at a law firm in Singapore. I then sat the SQE2 exams in November 2024. Having completed all the prerequisites to qualify as a solicitor, I submitted my application to the SRA. In April 2025, at the age of 21 years (and 4 months), I qualified as a solicitor in England and Wales.’

The Law Society’s excellent librarians reckon that Krishangi may not be the youngest solicitor of all time – in the past, teenagers could have qualified and then been admitted when they turned 21, the age of majority until 1970 – but Meshram is the youngest in recent history.

Her career plans? ‘I currently reside in the UAE. Amongst other fields, I’m eager to explore the legal dimensions of emerging digital technologies such as fintech, blockchains and AI. I aspire to work for leading law firms in the UK or the UAE.’

Definitely one to watch.
