After London Fashion Week and London Tech Week, it’s time to get ready for the next big event in the capital’s calendar. Gird your loins for London Arbitration Week, five days and nights of brainstorming and networking, kicking off on 1 December.
Hang on: don’t we already have London International Dispute Week in the calendar? Not the same thing at all, says event director Peter Ashford, a veteran arbitrator, who reckons that LIDW’s single day devoted to arbitration fails to reflect London’s continuing importance as the world’s preferred seat. ‘We see ourselves as complementary rather than competitive,’ he tells Obiter.

One theme of the week will be the rule of law, the subject of the week’s flagship conference at London’s Guildhall on Wednesday 3 December. Expect contributions from serving and former members of the judiciary, as well as academics and the global arbitration community. The event will also celebrate the 25th anniversary of London’s International Dispute Resolution Centre.
Get your bids in quickly. Because of the interest so far, the organisers are already working on London Arbitration Week 2026.
