Kicking off in the City, PricewaterhouseCoopers Legal hires Julia Onslow-Cole as a partner and UK head of global immigration. She is joined by her team of ten legal professionals, including partner Nadine Owen. They were all previously at CMS Cameron McKenna.



City firm Stephenson Harwood recruits Paul Reeves, who joins the employment group. He moves from the London office of US firm McDermott Will & Emery.



Paul Hastings Janofsky & Walker hires Michelle English as a partner in its private equity practice. She moves from fellow US firm Kirkland & Ellis.



In west London, criminal litigator Richard Gowthorpe joins Lansbury Worthington as a partner from Stringfellow & Gowthorpe, which has been dissolved.



Tom Howell joins specialist real estate firm BrookStreet des Roches in Abingdon, Oxfordshire. He was previously head of the commercial property group at Clarkslegal in Reading.



Liverpool-based niche professional indemnity firm Legal Risk recruits Francis Dingwall as a partner from Henmans in Oxford, where he was joint head of the professional negligence and commercial litigation department.



In Manchester, Stephen Ellis is appointed as head of real estate at Boote Edgar Esterkin having previously headed the property finance team at DWF.



Associates/assistants

South London firm Russell-Cooke adds two to its commercial property group – Rakhee Kotecha from Rodgers & Burton and Katy Peacock from Clifford Chance.



Lansbury Worthington boosts its team with a number of criminal litigators following the dissolution of Stringfellow & Gowthorpe – assistants Farrah Al-jarrah, Katy O’Mara and Naomi Alcendor, and non-practising barrister Tom Garner.



Memery Crystal welcomes back Michelle Hinde-Smith, who left the firm as a junior corporate fee-earner, and returns as an associate after six years as an in-house commercial lawyer for Formula One Management Limited.



Leaving the capital is Henry Adams, who joins the shipping, logistics and international services team at Ipswich-based Birketts. He was previously at City firm Clyde & Co.



In Norwich, Howes Percival recruits Gareth Lamb as an assistant in the commercial litigation team. He moves from Steeles.



Specialist real estate firm BrookStreet des Roches hires Rebecca Ebdon from The College of Law as a professional support lawyer.



Dale Williams joins Warwickshire firm Lodders as an associate in the commercial law team. He moves from Harvey Ingram in Birmingham.



Tracey Emonson strengthens the wills, trusts and probates team at Black Country firm Waldrons after qualification.



Susan Smith joins Rutland County Council as a senior solicitor after a break. She was previously an associate, and head of personal injury and civil litigation, at Bird and Co in Newark and Grantham.



Associate Catherine Fosbrook joins the real estate practice at Boote Edgar Esterkin from DWF.



Berryman in Nottingham promotes two to associate – Carl Mifflin (insolvency and recovery) and Nick Wilson (commercial property).



Karin Parfitt joins the litigation team at Wilsons in Wiltshire as an associate, leaving Clarkson Wright & Jakes in Kent.



Lemon & Co in Swindon promotes Ian Tomlinson to associate in the private law and residential property department. Gareth Horner, who qualified at dgb in Kent, joins the wills trusts and probate department as a solicitor.



Solicitor and chartered town planner Helen Van Willegan joins Hutchinson Thomas in Neath, West Glamorgan. She was previously head of the commercial team at Bridgend County Borough Council.



On the south coast, Southampton firm Eric Robinson promotes three to associate – Angela Pelleschi and Christopher Bird (wills and probate), and Noel Roberts (criminal law).



Consultant

Hull firm Andrew Jackson appoints Maggie Taylor as a consultant and head of its new public sector unit. She moves from Kingston-upon-Hull City Council, where she was the director of corporate governance and monitoring officer.
