Starting in the capital, Jeremy Abraham joins the private client group at Matthew Arnold & Baldwin as a partner from Russell Jones & Walker, where he was head of the family team.



David Franks joins the commercial department at London firm Jaffe Porter Crossick from Roiter Zucker.



US firm Chadbourne & Parke appoints three partners to its project finance practice in London: Jon Nash, Sohail Barkatali and Agnieszka Klich move from Berwin Leighton Paisner.



London firm Seddons recruits Scott Santocki as a partner and head of its employment team; he was previously with Denton Wilde Sapte.



Wedlake Bell appoints Malcolm Macfarlane as a property partner from Rosling King.



Manches makes up eight: in London, Alison Lewis, Rajan Shori, Yasmin Uddin (property), Nicola Hay and Liz Saunders (family), Jonathan Day (technology, media and intellectual property), and Maxine Cox (employment); in Oxford, Rob Hayes (corporate). The firm now has 63 partners in London and Oxford.



On the south coast, Lester Aldridge hires Rayner Jones as a partner in its employment department; he moves from Baines Wilson in Carlisle.



In Manchester, Weightmans hires Sharon Kamil as a partner from Halliwells; she joins the large loss and technical claims team.



Wirral firm RMNJ makes up two: Gareth Brooks (property) and Helen Gordon (family).



In Leeds, Ison Harrison makes up two: Nancy Fairbairn (head of clinical negligence), and Stephen Flint (residential property). Dominic Mackenzie (head of the private client department), becomes an equity partner; he was previously a non-equity partner.





Associates / Assistants



South-east firm Furley Page hires Susan Jennings as an associate to head its corporate department in Chatham, Kent; she was previously a partner with Vizards Wyeth in Dartford, where she headed the company commercial team.



Lancashire firm Haworth & Nuttall appoints family and ?matrimonial specialist Tanya Magell as an associate in its Accrington office; she moves from Green & Co in Manchester.



Irwin Mitchell appoints two to its Leeds-based commercial property team: associate Heather Roberts joins from Cobbetts, while Jennifer Kirkhope moves from George Davies in Manchester.



Shipping and insurance specialists Bentleys Stokes & Lowless hires Geraint Powell as a senior solicitor from US firm Holman Fenwick & Willan.



Emily McCulloch joins the marine team in Lester Aldridge’s Southampton office; she was previously with Blake Lapthorn Tarlo Lyons in Fareham.





CONSULTANTS



Karen Jones joins the agriculture team at Thring Townsend Lee & Pembertons in London from County Land and Business Association, where she was chief legal adviser.



London firm Wedlake Bell appoints David Carr as a consultant in the property team from Pitmans in Reading, where he was a partner.





NEW FIRMS



Three partners at Peterborough-based Greenwoods have left the firm to set up another practice in the city, called Sloan Plumb Wood. They are Philip Sloan (head of intellectual property), Nick Plumb (commercial property), and Martin Wood (construction and engineering).



In Buckinghamshire, three partners from the recently dissolved Cripps & Shone in Marlow have set up LGP Solicitors. They are Patrick Land (property and probate), Timothy Graham (litigation and family) and Keith Green (commercial property).



In Bath, Richard Sharp – a partner with Thring Townsend Lee & Pembertons who specialises in family law, collaborative practice and mediation – has left the firm to set up Sharp Family Law Practice in the city.
