Starting in the City, US firm Mayer Brown appoints Angela Hayes to the firm’s financial services practice as a partner from LG.



Siddharth Sharma joins national firm DLA Piper’s City finance and projects team as a partner from magic circle firm Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer.



Two partner appointments at Lawrence Stephens in central London: commercial and intellectual property specialist Daniel Eilon, who was previously a partner and head of the commercial department at Healys, and corporate/commercial specialist Lucy Becker, who was a partner at McFaddens.



City firm Trowers & Hamlins adds two to the partnership – Paul Flood joins the banking and finance team from Reynolds Porter Chamberlain, and Martin McFall joins the pensions team from ASB Law.



Dispute resolution partners Geoffrey Gauci, James Irvine and Charles Pugh join City firm Bristows from US firm Howrey.



Moving north, DWF recruits four to its partnership. In Manchester, Philip D’Netto joins the catastrophic injury team from Halliwells, Graham Hall joins the banking team from Cobbetts, and Joel Heap, also from Cobbetts, joins the litigation team. Gavin Maddison moves to the corporate team in the Leeds office from Addleshaw Goddard.



Personal injury specialist Julie Dudson is promoted to partner at Simpson Millar in Leeds.



In Norwich, Erika Clarke joins Birketts’ corporate team; she was previously a partner at Eversheds.





Associates/Assistants

In the City, Rooks Rider hires assistant Geraldine Hoare in the residential property department from Laytons in Guildford. Solicitor-advocate Sam Themis joins the cross-border dispute resolution team from Miller & Rosenfalck.



In the Midlands, Walsall-based Enoch Evans hires associate Simon Hayden in the commercial department from Putsmans.



South-west firm Bevan Brittan hires Lisa Norman as an associate in its Birmingham employment team; she was previously at DLA Piper. Joining her is assistant Lara Feghali from Hempsons in Harrogate. Rhiannon Paddock joins as an assistant in the commercial team from Hill Dickinson in Liverpool.



Personal injury specialist Adrienne de Vos joins the Manchester office of City firm Davies Arnold Cooper as a senior associate.



Manchester motoring firm Geoffrey Miller recruits assistant Gillian Evans from Freeman & Company.



Cathy Cook joins the corporate and commercial department at Yorkshire firm Jordans. She moves from the in-house legal team at Skipton Building Society.



In Manchester, assistant Rachel Smith joins the residential development team at Glaisyers from Cottrill Stone Lawless.



In Wales, Catherine West is promoted to associate and head of employment at Cardiff firm Martyn Prowel, while Helen Pearn is promoted to associate in the family department.



In Cornwall, commercial law firm Murrell Associates recruits associates Michael Boulton and Sonya Pennington, and commercial lawyer Chris Wills, who were all previously at Follett Stock.



Matthew Bridger joins Warner Goodman’s commercial team in Southampton from Isle of Wight Council.





IN-HOUSE

Guy Goodman becomes the first in-house solicitor and monitoring officer at Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service; he was previously head of community services law at Leicester City Council.



Leicester City Council legal services appoints two criminal defence solicitors to its regulatory team – Caroline Gutteridge from Oliver D’sa, and Katherine Jamieson from The Johnson Partnership in Nottingham.



Commercial litigation and insolvency specialist Gill Stevenson joins Games Workshop Group in Nottingham as legal manager from Roythorne & Co, where she was an assistant.





NEW FIRMS

Martin Hammond and Philip Trotter have set up motoring law criminal defence firm DrivingDefences.Com in Bolton; both were previously at Burton Copeland.



In Cornwall, former Follett Stock partner Hugh Murrell has set up commercial law firm Murrell Associates. He is joined by former Follett colleague Katie Ashworth.





MANAGEMENT

Chris Yemm, head of civil litigation at Fisher Jones Greenwood in Colchester, has been appointed managing partner of the firm. His predecessor, Tony Fisher remains senior partner and will concentrate on the commercial department.
