West End of London firm Jeffrey Green Russell has said it is in discussions over a sale after filing for insolvency.

The commercial firm, which has 38 solicitors, lodged the winding-up petition yesterday and the case will be heard tomorrow.

A spokesperson said: ‘Jeffrey Green Russell confirms that there are advanced discussions being held with a merger partner which will lead to the transfer of its business to a well-established London law firm. It is very much business as usual and a full announcement will be made shortly.’

According to Companies House records, Jeffrey Green Russell Limited has parted company with three directors in the past month – the latest of which was solicitor Dipesh Dosani, who joined London firm Child & Child today.
