Tips for the NHS :

1) If you make a mistake, own up to it, apologise and make a good offer to settle

2) Take a look at your panel solicitors and see how effective they are - Are they charging too much, using expensive Counsel when not required, getting involved in fights that they should be avoiding, adopting an aggressive stance and overlooking your plan to be less adversarial ? (Yes is the answer to each of these by the way)

3) In light of 2 above, start exploring the possibility of using more cost effective law firms if you really don't want to hold your hands up to your mistakes
