Within an ostensible pretext of financial necessity a paradigm has moved, the impact of which on the reality of our democracy cannot be ignored. It is possible that the Govenment do not actually get it, but the arrival at this point is sequential, in critical theory terms the consequenc of public panoptism. Where electronic communication on the one hand purports to give boundless clouds of information freedom, it by the same stroke draws Foucault's prison wall around us all, where from the political watchtower the gremlins of publicly funded lawyers can so easily be nipped in the bud.
