It is a peculiar irony that some lawyers criticise those that rant and allege that ranting makes the orator 'petulant and ill tempered' to the degree that he looks and is considered foolish. That irony being that the Prime Minister and Leader of the opposition have regular rants and Punch and Judy fights at Questions Time at the dispatch box. Many notable senior politicians take ranting to the extreme and could teach children in playgrounds a thing or two about how to rant spectacularly.
So as a society we must find it acceptable for our esteemed leaders to rant and throw toys about (and not consider they lose credibility), but the same does not apply to senior academics charged with preparing reports. How odd. All animals are equal but some animals are more equal (yet again) than others. Rant over. :)
