Quite correct Peter (Ryder) going on these courses was in itself instructive. For the most part you got away from the 'phone at least. Then you chatted with practitioners from very different firms from one's own. And the talk was given, usually, by someone who had probably forgotten more than I would ever know about a subject. And unless you attended a tax seminar at least once a year I always thought you were a positive danger to your clients and, ultimately, yourself.

Doing it in-house was not an option that ever worked for me.

And then there was that bloody 'phone which kept on ringing...
