I am also fed up of everyone expecting free services from lawyers- or if not free at slavishly low rates where we work ridiculous hours for increasingly lower pay - we are the poor man of the professional landscape . The moment a lawyer mentions fees- however many hours or months one has worked and regardless of the excellence of the service provided, lawyers are ridiculed and payment disputed or resisted. It is time we got this sorted out. How many people dispute fees of their accountant ? Few. The obstacles to practice are fast becoming insurmountable and I am now seeking an exit from this poorly paid Slave like profession and a law society that does nothing. Excellent lawyers are being priced out of the careers they worked so hard to attain due to misdemeanors of the few. The whole system of PII is ludicrous- why should I be classed with a totally different legal discipline and my premiums priced based on their negligence ?

It's a mess and I blame the Law Society for totally failing to actively manage our profession to ensure good lawyers are shielded from the negligence of the few- to tender out opportunities to provide the profession with insurance cover to ensure the profession obtains best value and where our reputations as a whole can be preserved.
