I'm afraid this bureaucratic lunacy, that has equally afflicted financial services, is why the role of a lawyer is now so expensive and miserable to carry out. Its staggering that all of this regulation has come in over a few years, yet now everyone is asking do we really need it ? How much is this all costing and is it really making any difference ? I think not. How practice seemed so much better in 1994 and I cannot recall our door being beaten down by angry clients.
