Sorry I thought the Government were going to get a bunch of young law graduates with no professional training to do the pro bono stuff at court. Presumably that will sort out the gap in the market for all thousands of people denied legal aid by Captain Grayling and his hit squad. Small law firms cost a fortune to run and the profit is a very small percentage of the fees. If there are no fees for some of the work, then those fees have to be increased in other areas to pay for it. Legal aid did not in fact ever properly pay its way but at least it paid enough to allow high street firms to offer it. So we should not get caught up in a lie about a big society just to please a bunch of Tories posh boys who have never run a small business in their lives.
