I'm with Shak nd David "Doesn't like New Labour but doesn't like to talk about it" Crawfordon this one: I used to post in my practice name but found that many "tarts" on here used to fixate on the fact that I'm no longer practising (even though I'm still on the roll and entitled to receive the LSG).
More generally, I imagine that commenting on the depressingly long list of "WTH????" events going on or, worse, still going on in the profession is very cathartic.
Truth is solicitors in practice whine a lot but action nothing because they are either resigned to their fate or because they naively cling to the hope that one day they'll wake up to a better world.
Solicitors like David Crawford, whatever their sins, are valuable because they remind us that silence is the cause of all our woes: we are becoming a profession of cultists desperately trying to please the god Everyone; a path leading only to the grave either literally or financially.
Those who allow themselves to be molded by this perverse outlook may survive, but like Sauron's orcs they will be a ruined and terrible form of life cut off from their communities and serving only those who want society to be helpless in the face of increasing legal encroachment on quality if life and liberty.
