This may be down to my relative inexperience and only having worked at small and medium sized firms, but I find the idea of representing someone I have never met and will never meet somewhat unsettling. I mean, it's one thing to represent a company, and the company's beneficial owner to be a disembodied voice on the end of a telephone line, at least there you're dealing with the company's employees and/or directors, and the advice is of the corporate nature. How can you give accurate advice to someone for something as personal and potentially traumatic as... er... personal injury without having met them? Surely it's worth the time ensuring you give a more personalised service to your client.
