I don't believe a legal background is a qualification to become an MP, I believe that these two career paths should be kept completely seperate,
I say this because it means the monopoly that is the law Society have members at the Top of Government this does not bode well for independence in matters that arise when hundreds of members of the public have had a traumatic time trying to bring to the Goverments attention of the many people who have been forced through a complaints system that is heavily weighted against the public.

It is also an absolute affront to crime and justice when the Law society has an agreement with the police not to investigate crimes commited by solicitors, their victims have been degraded damage, and financially ruined by the crimes yet access to justice through the normal process of reporting the crimes to the police is denied to the victims.

This in my view is a powerful society that has used its influence to disadavantage the public for the protection of a solicitors that that commit crimes, under the Monopolies commission this is a breach, the law society is a monopoly, so when MP's get complaints from the public about the law society there is no way of knowing if that MP is a member of the Law society, if they are therefore by that affiliation cannot go against the law society.

So how can that be acceptible?
