Big business is the death knell for the profession. Here’s a story. I used to work on the high street and occasionally did the odd PI case including whiplash-very profitable. Big business moved into PI and whilst over the years the number of motor accidents went down the number of whiplash cases shot up to the extent it became unsustainable and the country could not afford it. The result was that the system had to be reformed and now claimant’s legal fees are I understand £500 for a simple whiplash. Big business now employs paralegals not solicitors to process the claims and I know PI solicitors distraught looking into the abyss
