''Dianne Abbot...the hypocrite, champagne socialist'' = brilliant drafting. I love that sentence (though I will not say whether I agree or disagree with you).
As for Sir Richard Richard 23 June 2015 07:51 pm = '‘She's all for diversity, as long as it doesn't involve "white people" (her term). One can emphatise with your conclusion. As improbable as it may seem Sir, there may be some truth in that.
‘‘Obsession with diversity’’ & the ‘‘guilt of Empire’’ (Michael Kelly) - historically that may have been so, but actually its not really about ‘left’ or ‘right’ politics anymore – it’s just so unfashionable to be out of touch with diversity & inclusion these days. I mentioned elsewhere that D&I is critical from a commerical and business orientation, albeit a company may be small and have no global dealings.
Forbes Insights produced an excellent Report on the issue from a politically-secular viewpoint:-
‘‘Global Diversity and Inclusion
Fostering Innovation Through a Diverse Workforce’’
