This is utter madness. Just who are these people that think this nonsense up. Do they know anything at all about the profession they regulate. As has already been stated the insurers will have a field-day demanding that all solicitors remain insured until they die. Even then they may go after surviving partners based on spurious vicarious liability. Many new law grads and I suspect many who are now in practice will say enough is enough and leave. Then who will act for the accused, no-one as there will be no one there.
