We have been demonised by governments for years, and like many other contributors I give many hours for free every week. Sometimes it's hard to get any paid work done , so much time is spent explaining that there's no public funding, no costs recoverable in tribunals or small claims and so on.
I'd be happy to take an oath, but as for compulsory pro bono, it's red tape and nanny state.
It's also an absolute bloody liberty. Ask a surgeon to do no win no fee or to work unpaid for a set number of hours each month.
