It is painfully obvious to observe with each successive attendance at court the incremental decline into shoddiness of British justice. Perhaps the most sickening element over and beyond the iterative miscarriages of justice is the cynical manipulation of the criminal courts as a money spinner for Government with the rolling out of disgraceful monetary additions that patently detract from fairness. The trend becomes more sinister when you realise that the police with the obvious complicity of the CPS are attempting to encroach into civil disputes so that that they can filch POCA money out of breach of contracts. These may be worth many thousands of pound and yet the CPS insist that they are suitable for summary trial with lay magistrates confidently grabbling, in blind ignorance, with complex issue of title which rarely can be neatly pigeon holed in the approximations of criminal law. It raises the suggestion that the prosecuting authority know that they are put forwarding dodgy cases with the hope of as little scrutiny as possible by suitably qualified professional judges.
