Call me inflexible, call me discriminatory, call me anything you like as long as you don't call me late for lunch - but if I issue an application and it comes back for a given date, and I now have to find counsel, I want counsel who is free on that date, and if you are not I don't care why you are not, I will brief somebody else.

And if I need counsel at short notice I expect anyone who takes the brief to put everything else aside - including family life - to be ready. Just like I have to.
