1) If something is wrong (and it has been decided that, for better or for worse, recoverable success fees are wrong) then that thing remains wrong, even if you throw in some emotive phrases such as "rogue directors". (or if you are a politician, "hard working families"; or if you are UKIP "economic migrants", etc.)

2) I happen to agree that recoverable success fees are wrong. And wealthy, barely-regulated Insolvency Practitioners, acting on behalf of HMRC are pretty low down the list of people for whom anybody should have any sympathy for.

3) Aww, diddums. Mrs Sue Grabitandrun, licensed by the Insolvency Practitioners Association, won't be able to threaten Claire the hairdresser who has gone bust that she either pays £10,000 now, or risks litigation that may cost her £500,000 if she loses. (£10,000 which will, of course, go entirely on IP and solicitors fees anyway).

4) Cleaning up corporate wrongdoing is not best achieved by individual IPs charging large fees at the expense of some (but by no means all, or even the majority) of rogue directors. If rogue directors cost society, the appropriate mechanism to resolve this is the criminal law.

5) Does ANYBODY actually believe the current system for remuneration of IPs is fair?
