How many times has this now been proposed (raising small claims limit). Presumably this comes on the back of the Fraud Taskforce.

Genius though. Mr X injured in an RTA. Suffers 'minor injury' worth less than £5k (say broken ankle but complete recovery) He is not able to work and does not get sick pay. Mrs X does not work as they would not be able to afford childcare. They live in rented accommodation which they pay privately.

As Mr X cannot work they get into arrears and are then evicted.

Mr X wants compensation. No solicitors will touch a small claim (well some might). Instead Mr X is told by his insurance company that they have an organisation that can help him. Fine they can help, but they will take x% of his compensation (probably a lot more than the 25% allowed now for success fees. Yes he ends up with something, probably too late but the insurer who owns the company ends up with the rest. To be especially vicious, lets say it is a CMC that they have set up so tough if he wants to issue proceedings - he is on his own.

Welcome to the future.
