I think this is the way of the future. We will have lawyers' offices which are much like self serve petrol stations or a Macdonalds drive in window. You drive up, order from an electronic menu and the document is given to you at the next window from an electronic dispenser. Voice recognition, biometrics and state of the art computer programs will ensure you get exactly what you need. There will be an internal complaints "chat box" on their site and an ombudsman.

Then, for people who actually want to get good service, there could be a new profession where practicioners have trained professional university faculties, joined a profession and put themselves forward as giving service to the highest professional standards. It might attract people who are committed to helping others. They could belong to a self regulating professional body which ensures that standards are met. People might want such a service, provided by real professionals who you would meet in an office and could discuss your personal needs. You could call the governing body "The Law Society". Perhaps its a radical idea but you never know, it might catch on.
