For once, we have a Lord Chief Justice who is prepared to stick up for the law as such - that it's something that is essential for society and not just something that ministers and civil servants should avoid spending public money one - and lo, look at the way all the worms come out of their wormholes to complain that he's a judge and is not sticking up for their personal bit of the profession.
