I don't know either of these premises, but from the look of the Google streetview image at the top of the article, I would be amazed if the lease was costing them very much. Obviously this is about the wages of the 51 staff at those sites.

Having said that, you can't expect the S&G board to come out and say they're reducing staffing costs; it's far more palatable to the investors to talk about property. If a company is listed, its share price is paramount and that means it has to put the best possible spin on things, there is a fiduciary duty.

You're right of course, the real issue is the staff who face redundancy and they have my greatest sympathy.
