The title 'partner' isn't worth much. I used to be a salaried partner in a busy High St. practice focussing mainly on p.i. I moved to an assistant role in a bigger firm for more pay. The sole SP had intended for me to buy him out at some point but, with the changes, he's now got a practice he wants to retire from but which is making a lot less money and which he can't sell. I consider that I had a lucky escape.

My advice to any would be salaried partner is to forget the title, go somewhere where they'll pay you no less than 1/3rd of your gross profit costs and sleep more soundly.
