Didn't they tell us when case management was first brought in was that the idea was that the judge was going to be involved from the off and keep the proceedings running to a timetable to prevent all these terrible lawyers wasting their clients' money with negotiations and suchlike rather than ploughing ahead with the case. Now we are being told that judges don't need to be involved in case management... In which case, can we bin case management please?
