Quite correct, Anon, M&As can in fact be disastrous and destroy firms which have existed quite well for hundreds of years. Different legal 'cultures' come together, but a marriage of minds is something quite different. Then it's like that TV advert when the couple meet on line, but end up saying ''... sorry, it's not you, it's me, ... speak to my lawyer. I'll take the CDs...in your dreams'. The trouble for us is that we ARE the lawyers. ('A solicitor who acts for himself has a fool for a client', as the old saying goes).
