Interesting, Ian. To get into the sixth form these days, it seems to me, you have to smoke and be disobedient! As I walk past the new John Brights, the old one has been replaced by ASDA which now sells them the cigarette, lots of the pupils are smoking. My friend David Jones who went on to teach there for 35 years tells me that he was one day told to go to the PE teacher's study. When he got there he was told to bend over and was beaten. When it ended the teacher said "Now that'll teach you not to be cheeky, Williams".

"But I'm not Williams, Sir, I'm Jones".

" Oh Jones, I'm terribly sorry. Well, that'll do for next time!"

Happy days. That teacher would be on a charge of assault now. WHIMPS!
